A new experience...
Daddy decided that it was time to take the boys out for a creative experience. We were thinking in line of a steamboat/ BBQ. We had never brought Ivan for this before. Well, I guess that it was mainly my fear.
Being the protective mum that I am, I feared a lot for Ivan's safety. I feared that he may touch the hot grill or hurt himself with the hot soup. But I braved myself, and felt that the experience was going to be good for him. We anticipated that he would not eat alot, but we wanted him to explore.
He sat down looked at the unusual table. He watched as the meat sizzled on the hot plate and smiled at the sound it made. Even though, it excited him, he still refused to eat the cooked meat. He did however, request to eat the sausages that we had cooked. I walked him to the buffet spread to encourage him to pick up a few things to eat. He ended up taking different types of sausages and some eggs on a salad.
After a while, we allowed him to cook some meat using him chopsticks and also helped him to stir the broth. He was all smiles with the new found experience. The best was yet to come... Daddy took him to get dessert... ahhhh.... ice cream. Ivan decided that he was going to have a helping of all the flavours that they provided.
Immanuel enjoyed the beef, beef and beef. For Ivan it was the ice cream. For us parents, its the wonder of simply enjoying the smiles and laughter on your children's faces. We are hoping to make another trip before daddy leaves for work again.
