More surprises from our blessed baby...
Daddy is apparently suffering from jet lag so he sleeps during the evenings and gets up at 3am. And so you know he is not the only one, Ivan has the same reaction. He got up this morning at 5am and decided that he would keep daddy and me company. I guess the poor boy is too wound up about the daddy's return that he can't seem to calm down.
The annoying, "I want the computer, is just getting more persistent, and it started from 5am. Although, daddy said okay, mummy had to come in and say the great magic word, "No." Ivan tends to catch a bad cold when he doesn't get sufficient sleep. So I sent him back to bed. Knowing that he is full of surprises, I should have known that he would be up to something. With a hunch, I entered the room to find that he had awaken his brother by forcing his eyes open. Poor thing, Immanuel was forced to be awake.
Since now the whole family was awake, we decided to go down to this 24hr prata place near home. We had breakfast and came home. I forced Ivan to take his runny nose medicine while daddy left to run an errand. A couple of hours later when Ivan got up, he was much fresher.
Later in the afternoon, we met daddy at Northpoint, where we stashed up some great bargains at John Little that was closing down. Ivan was insistent that he wanted to have lunch at Burger King and would not hear of anything else. So why fight it, we had burgers...
Upon coming home, Ivan just helped himself to the computer and didn't study at all. I am very concern that he will start to regress. So daddy, and I decided that tomorrow we will get him to have some study time like he used to. Strange, that for a person who doesn't like changes, he is so quick to adapt to the fact that dad is home and we can ditch the timetable that we have to always do.
In the past, whenever dad left for work, Ivan would cry for weeks as he could never understand what happened to dad. Then similarly, when dad came home, he would get very distracted by his presence. Fortunately, all that is much better now. He understands the fact that dad goes away to work and when he does come home, you can have your time with him. Also, we make it a point to prepare him of dad's departure once its confirmed.
Talking about breaking the rules and trying new things, during dinner today, we had another surprise. We went down to the food court at Sun Plaza, where Ivan would normally wail to enter, but he walked in without screams today. He was rather fidgety, but we could handle that. Knowing that he likes, Hokkein Noodles (yellow noodles so he calls it), we ordered him a plate. Immanuel decided that he would have Char Kway Teow for dinner. When the dishes arrived, Ivan decided that he was going to have Immanuel's dish instead. Ivan has never wanted to try that dish, but now he is so insistent that he wanted that. So I tried feeding him a little and he ate well. So yet another new change, again for a boy who hates changes.
He has finally, turned in after a long hard day. I am hoping that he would have a good rest today and limit his surprises to only a few tomorrow.
