A one of a kind mother's day celebration...

2009, May 10, Sunday

I had already sent my mum a hamper before today, so that was taken care of. I got up this morning, feeling tired and lazy. I had thought to bring the boys out today, but wasn't sure. I hate crowded places trying to find a seat.

But instead, I found myself settling some accounts this morning. After that I just got the spur to clean up my boys room. Eversince I started my home-based business, I have been working from all over the house. It was beginning to irritate me. Even from before, I had to always do up my environment before I could work well. And well that still haven't changed, even after 6 years. I decided that I would take over Ivan's room as my office. It had a door and it would definitely keep unwanted chaos out. I did the whole works, shifting furniture, cleaning, mopping and even doing the windows before I put up the curtains. I wanted to have a cozy and soft environment to work in. From there, I went on and on, until the energy in me was still sustaining.

Once I was done, I threw out alot of rubbish and took a nice shower. Now I am enjoying a HUGE slice of Mango Cake that my sis brought for me this morning. She had bought it for my mum, but was sweet enough to bring me some. The cake is so heavenly, the mango is so fresh and firm. Juicy yet tender. The rest of the cake, well that's just gonna make me fat. But after all that work I did, I can afford to binge tonight.

Oh yes, a very sweet present that I received today. No not from my boys, they just wished me. But Ida from next door gave me a small pot of orchids. I was so touched. In the late morning, she was preparing a new pot of lime green orchids that they had just bought last night. I told her how I adore opening my front door to the sight of her beautiful orchids. Later in the afternoon, she surprised me with a little pot of one. I was touched, yet excited. This was one of the times when the thought that counts. It was such a nice gesture. Okay, I am really exhausted, so I am stopping for now. Happy Mother's Day, 2009.
