I was eager to take this opportunity to teach my boys something about saving the earth. We all looked forward to the 60 minutes lights out on Saturday. I didn't have to worry about candles, as I would have ample supply at home, since I love to light them.
Around 8.15pm I went around the house placing the candles in strategic positions. This was to ensure that the boys could see their way around should they need to move around. After that, we went around lighting the candles, it was fun. We all snuggled up in the TV room and watched TV for an hour in the candle light. After the news announced the various places that took part in the lights out, we were so happy that we could be a part of this movement.
I hope that when my boys grow up, they will cherish and remember these fun memories that we once shared. Even better should they live green lifestyles.
I am very proud to be apart of this movement to safe the earth. My hubby who wasn't so thrilled in the beginning, suggested that we should do this on a weekly basis.
