I have just reached home, feeling very weak and lifeless, still...
Last night, after watching TV with my hubby we went off to bed, not knowing what was going to hit us in a few hours time. I did highlight to my hubby that I feel some kind of pain in my tummy. But I figured that it would go away when I awoke the next day (foolish thinking).
I toss and turn the whole night, around 1.30am I got up and headed for the toilet hoping to ease myself. I ended up throwing up and almost passed out from the pain. Subsequently, I kept going for the toilet almost every hour after that. Until around 5.30am when I decided that I had better admit myself in a hospital. I called my hubby who was getting ready for work, and told him to call for my mum to come over to watch the kids as we went to the hospital.
My mum lived across the street so, she reached within 10 mins of calling her. Just before I left, I had to threw up again. Lots of thoughts went through my head. Who would take care of the kids should I be in admitted in hospital? Along with that I was thinking, that the bright side to this very painful situation, was that I actually stood a chance of losing weight.
We got into the cab and went straight on. The A & E experience was such a horrible one. However, in the midst of the ugliness, I saw a true nurse. She was a young, Malay nurse, probably a trainee, I guess. She was so cheerful and showed genuine concern, while the other nurses acted blur pretty much. She was very admirable as far as I am concern. I shared this experience with my hubby. Just then, the lady next to my bed started yelling at her asking why the doctors were taking forever. The lady yelled so much that the poor girl's face changed so much and than she looked very upset. After that incident she kept very much to herself as she worked. Soon after I went up to the ward. I thought to myself, this must be what happened to all the good nurses. It isn't fair yelling and venting your anger at a nurse when its the doctors who make the decisions. Also, the nurses are the ones that care for the patients. Doctors merely see you for about 5 mins the most, and get the payment.
Now I am feeling a bit better but I have to be very cautious of what and how much I eat.
