the Halloween

I started off the day, putting in place the last few pieces for today's party. I so wish that my hubby was around, he is always so helpful during times like these. Oh darling, I feel so alone doing up everything by myself.
This is our gift/ goodie bag table.

This is what was on the front door, a very pretty piece of decoration I must say.  On the right hand side, you see a picture of my faithful companion, who followed me as I placed every piece of deco. Tyke simply loved the shiny pieces and the buoyant balloons.

So while l was working my butt off, Ivan is here playing games on the spooky Iphone, and Immanuel is upstairs trying on his Halloween costume.

These are my crispy fried golden brown vegetarian popiah. Yummy... yummy...

These are crispy golden brown curry puffs yummy... yummy...

And this is my favorite of them all, the extra yummy samosas. And they are extra, extra yummy with our Japanese mayonnaise.

It was around twelve and I had just finished cooking and frying up everything. I changed and went out to pick up some baguettes and wine. I came home and had to cool down, the heat is just too much.

I am sitting here after my shower and I am pretty pissed off. I worked so hard for this party that doesn't seem to happen. I had spend so much of time planning for this party. Just a week before today, Ivan feel ill and then the dog and then Immanuel. Also not forgetting my wisdom tooth saga. To think that I planned this party with the aches of that irritating tooth.

I know that Immanuel feels very upset, that his friends did not turn up. Arggghhhhh.... All the stupid people in my life, so called family, are just a waste of my time, seriously... Annie said that she was going to help with the setting up, then she said that she would be here too. But as usual they are all lies, all the time. I just can never trust her word.
2:00pm   the party was suppose to start but near I am feeling very bad and disappointed.
After awhile, Arkash came over for the party. Timothy, Arkash and Immanuel got to know each other. They had some finger food. We played hit the Pinata after that. The boys moved on to the Wii for the longest time.
 Here's the gang.

On the left is the Brothers Gomez, and on the right is Timothy and Immanuel.

Here's my baby Shrek and me.
Some of the best shots that I have.

The Gomez girls arrive shortly after 4pm. The party goes on. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of them. (since they are always a handful).

My chicken curry did well for dinner, for all of us. I am so proud of myself. To go with that I made my greens with mock abalone. The girls ate well. The kids all had Ben & Jerry's and enjoyed it. As for Merlin and me, we had some sexy pink wine, that I got earlier.

After awhile, I called a cab for Merlin and they left. I showered, and tucked in with the boys, to watch the rest of the Harper's Island marathon.

I am so so exhausted, I am now tucked in bed. I had just finished preparing for tomorrow's party.

Started the morning cleaning the kitchen. I got the maid to clean the kitchen, my style. Then I headed off to get groceries and some munchies for tomorrow's party. Bought KFC back for lunch.

Later, I prepared dinner. It was so satisfying having a home cooked meal, fresh and hot. Here's a picture of my Kai Lan an d mock abalone.

Finished packing all the goodie bags and stuff.
Hoping tomorrow's party, although a small one, would be a great one for the boys. They deserve it. And I can finally be able to throw fun parties... Yippee!!!

Today, I was to meet up with Merlin to go on a shopping spree. She wanted to go down to Raffles City Shopping Center. I went over to her place around, 10.40am with my maid. My maid was going to help her's out with the three girls. Immanuel stayed home with Timothy, who had came to stay over last night.

Upon reaching AMK, Merlin and I left on the train to get to City Hall. We shopped, and shopped, and shopped. Stopped for lunch at Out of the Pan, which she insisted that she paid for. And shopped some more. She had so much of bags, that I just had to help her, she looked pitiful. Of course, she took a cab and I returned home with her. Just as I was about to leave, it poured like crazy. I came home drenched from the rain.

I must say that I had a good day, out with her. She has changed, some things about her are strangely different.I am so exhausted today. But I can say that I shopped till I could drop.

dear diary

This morning I got up with butterflies in my tummy. I am really too anxious, about going to the dentist. I just hate it. The first time I had to remove my wisdom tooth, my mum lived in the next block from the dental clinic, I could just go over to rest and recover. Years later, when I had to remove my second wisdom tooth, I was already settled in Sembawang. My darling hubby, took me to the dental clinic in a cab and took me home in a cab. After which he took care of me as I slept through the anguish of the void in my gums.

But now, he is away at work abroad, and I have to face this alone. (boo-hoo) I mentioned to my mum last night on a phone conversation that I needed to get my tooth extracted, probably next week... and there was no reaction... I had made plans to accompany my sis to get maternity clothes, but had to reschedule as my tooth was bugging me. I sms her that I had to visit the dentist, due to the discomfort, and she apparently had nothing to say. That's my family for you. Sometimes, I hurts to know that when push comes to shuff, at the end of the day money is your only relative.

To my best memory, I had always been there for my mum, and all her check ups. All her hospital stay ins, etc, etc, etc. And as for my sis, she knows that when she needs me I am there. But unfortunately, I always knew that I stood alone when I needed someone. It's been like this all my life. I never had anyone to rely on, I believe that's why I am the way I am because of this. It's hard looking over your shoulder all the time, not being to trust anyone, or rely on anyone. Thankfully, the good Lord threw me down a blessing, in the form of my hubby. He is not perfect, but he has been there for me, whenever I needed him.

Any how, with a heavy heart, and the Lord by my side, I headed to the dentist. I awaited anxiously. The dentist then told me that I had an infection and had to be on antibiotics. And to return next week to have it extracted. I guess that's a relief for now, as I have to throw a Halloween party this Sunday.

After the clinic, I went to visit my God-daughters. Had a little chit chat with the sis-in law, and left to meet Immanuel for lunch at McDonald's. From there we went to Sim Lim Square, to pick up Immanuel's Wii. We were early, so we walked around and had a good mother-son talk.

I had needed to warn Immanuel, about his friend, who seem to be a little off. I had noticed that when I was talking to him yesterday, he kept staring at my boobs. My fear is that because if being neglected, that boy could search for inappropriate distractions, like pron. I wanted Immanuel to know that he can come and talk to me about anything. He later opened up and mentioned, about how that friend of his had been wanting to enter a sex shop. Oh all that growing up, not that fun.

We had reached home, and his friend was already at our place waiting for us.  They tried out the new game and were having lots of fun. I took my painkillers and rested awhile.

Today was an up and about day. Ivan was back to school. And I had lots of errands to run. I had to continue picking up stuff for the Halloween party. Immanuel and his friend was to get down to Sim Lim Square to settle a disk problem. But they decided that they wanted to follow me first to get some costume addition.

So we went to Millenia Walk, to The Party Haus. Picked up some stuff and they headed off. The boys wanted to go over to Carrefore, and I headed off to Raffles City Shopping Center. Grabbed lunch at BK and was off to Party City. I got Immanuel a great outfit/ costume.

Since I still had time on my hands, I decided to splurge a little. I shopped until I was happy. Headed off home as Ivan was to be home soon.

It was a good day, however, at night I realised that Immanuel was coming down with a fever. I am really tiring out, with Ivan first, then Tyke, my tooth and now Immanuel. Good Lord be my strength.

Today, is yet another day. My wisdom tooth, is so bugging me... I know I need to extract it but I need to await my hubby to get home first, so I can have a good rest after extracting my wisdom tooth.

Ivan and Tyke are feeling much better today, after two days of not feeling well. I know I need to pick up my pace, but I notice that every time my hubby leaves, I feel down for at least a week.

Lunch at Equinox

Monday, 30 August 2010

It had been awhile, since I actually went out with friends. And Jelyn, my dear friend, called me up to tell me that she was on a two weeks leave. So we decided to catch up. We meet up and lunched at Aston's, Cathy Cineplex. It was a great time chatting and catching up.

We scheduled to meet for lunch again, this time Jelyn was to choose a place. She had been busy, and it was a very last moment thing to meet again. On that day itself, I called Jelyn and she told me that she had made reservations. I had no idea, as to where we were going, until she stunned me by bringing me here.... Equinox.
Check out the view, it's just so breathe-taking.
We were spread with a rich buffet spread.  The main course was the onw we could choose. The waiter told us that since we ordered the steak, the Foie gras (goose liver, as I have been told, some fancy French dish), was to be complimentary.

When it arrived, we looked hard at it. I decided to dive in and give it a taste. Hmm... I found it to be kinda okay. Jelyn just hated it, that she wanted hers taken away. I enjoyed it and found it to be rather bitter when it cooled. Come on, how often do you get a chance to eat such fancy stuff.

After that, we started off with sushi, I didn't take any pictures, as I was still warming up with the great view. It's such a beautiful view, I was so touched that my dear friend brought me to this place. She is such a sweetheart. So after some sushi and miso soup, we headed back to the buffet spread.

While Jelyn feasted on the huge variety of seafood, I went along with the salad bar. Soon, our main course arrived. My darling friend asked for medium well, while I asked for medium rare. After the steaks arrived, she felt uncomfortable as her's was still a little red. She had it sent back to be re-cooked, and we chuckled about it, as we thought how she would annoy the chief.

Once the main course was done, it was time to head the Dessert section, my favourite. I started out with the creme burlee and it was all good.

And it was dessert heaven... after some hot tea, to wash it all down, we finished our chit chat and left. We wanted to snap some shots together, and Jelyn suggested the Awesome restroom. And she was right, it was just like the kind you see in the movies.

It was pretty fun taking pictures, in an elegant restroom. Here is a shot of the walk way to the restroom, and Jelyn is drooling over the drinks.

It was a great gals day out. Am feeling very blessed.

To the Bird Park again...

Monday, 4 October 2010

As if last, Thursday's excursion was not enough, Ivan kept insisting that we had to go back there. He kept rambling something about Jurong Bird Park water, for a few days already. We didn't really get what it was that he wanted, but am sure that we will know once we get there. We headede off to get to Jurong, via train. Then we stopped at Boon Lay for lunch before we headed for the Bird Park. The guys had Char Kway Teow while I enjoyed a bowl of hot Laksa. Yummy.

We reached the Bird Park and got our tickets. We entered excitedly as it was the first time we went there alone with Ivan. We headed in, and noticed that Ivan retracking his steps. He went in exactly the same way they did the last time. It seemed as if had the same route mapped out.

We took these pictures just at the entrance area where the London phone booth was placed.

These shots were taken at this hut looking thing by the ostriches.

This is a shot that I like very much. We took it by the flamingo pond.

We stopped to have a photo to be taken with these beautiful birds.

Just after this shot, Ivan ran out to the near by store and took a bottle of mineral water, with the tag of the Bird Park. Now we understood, what he wanted, this mineral water bottle. To think that we paid almost $50 to enter, just to get this $2 bottle. Seriously!!!

This was a pretty shot taken at the entrance and we headed over to Ben & Jerry's for some ice cream, after picking up some gifts for Immanuel.

This is Ivan's order, Oh! boy its sooo yummy.

And this is what Peter and I shared. Hmmm....
Over all it was a great day at the Bird Park, we had a very productive time together. We understood, what Ivan actually wanted and why he had been bugging us for days. We headed back to Jurong Point and went shopping, as Peter needed to get some new bermudas.

To the Bird Park

Thursday, 30 September 2010

It was excursion day for the children in St Clare School. Ms Olivia, wrote and asked us if we could be parent volunteers for this excursion. We made it there just before the bus left and were assigned to a couple of kids.

Peter, found a boy called Keiji, who immediately latched onto him. The boy refuse to let him go, thus he stayed in charge of Keiji.

Upon reaching, we headed to watch the Puppet Bird show. Then another Real bird show. Then to where the Owls were. It was not a great idea actually, as some of the kids had issues with the darkness, and Ivan was one of them. Thankfully, it was a short walk through. The kids stopped at the entrance of the Owl place and bought their souvenirs.

Following that, we headed for lunch at the open picnic area. As Peter, had receiving the news of his grandma passing on, when we were on the bus earlier, we had already told them that we were leaving after lunch. It was the right move, as they were going back to watch yet another bird show.

We left there and headed off to AMK to Peter's mum's place. We lingered there, as relatives came and left with condolences. I was getting pretty bored... sitting there with Ivan. Immanuel came over after school and we hung around.

This morning, my darling leaves for work to the Phillipines. With Ivan fighting fever, and Tyke not feeling well, I still want to believe that it's going to be a great day.

As I knew that it was going to be a long day, I took my time to start the day. Later, Immanuel and the maid took Tyke to the Vet. He was said to have some viral infection.

Saturday, 23 October 2010
Ahh... A beautiful morning today. My dear husband had to go off to work today. The boys had already awaken and were having their breakfast. I was mentally awake, but physically I was slouching away in bed.

I decided that today, I wanted to start the day well, with the Word. Being lazy to reach for the bible, I reached for my Iphone. Turned on the podcast of Joel Osteen and went through the mundane routines of the morn.

It was beautiful, as I cleansed myself and prepared myself for the day, my spirit was being cleansed and prepared for the day too.

Pointers to remember:
  • When God gives you a vision, He will give you provision for it too.
  • Every morning, look at yourself in the mirror and call forth your life.
It was a great start already, and yet to be an even better day. Today, I will be bringing Ivan to La Salle for an Art Workshop and later for a prize presentation. It was suppose to be a family event, where all of us were to attend. However, unfortunately, Peter got called back to work. I am keeping the faith still that he will be there in time for the prize giving ceremony. It is pretty rare that Ivan gets such an opportunity, and now I am declaring that the whole family can share in this event.

Later on...

I rushed all the way to the Heartland Mall with Ivan to draw money and to grab lunch. But we were pressed for time, so I had to make do with a large KFC Popcorn Chicken. I felt so bad for rushing Ivan like this. But we managed to get a taxi and he was nice enough to get there on time.

Once we got there, we started walking in circles. Who ever organized it, did a pretty disorganized job. After much trouble, Ivan and I found our way there. We sat through the pretty boring workshop. Ivan was asked to draw a scene of helping someone. And of course Ivan was just going to draw what he wanted. Eventually, he drew his family and Tyke, together with some Warner Brothers friends. After completing his masterpiece, Ivan and I left. We met Peter and Immanuel, for lunch.

After lunch, we headed back to La Salle for the prize presentation. It was a simple and sweet ceremony. Arkash came and joined us, as he was also one of the top ten winners. There was a small tea reception after the prize presentation. We mingled for a while and then left for Sim Lim Tower. My sweet, sweet hubby bought me a MacBook. One that I am enjoying alot.

We moved on to Tekka Market for a traditional MaMa dinner. After which, we came home to rest. It was then that we realised that Ivan was coming down with a fever.

Friday, 22 October 2010

Okay let's see, today is a Friday, the last workday of the week for most people. I had the luxury of sleeping in, this morning. Last night, my sweetheart, my son and I went to catch a movie with the in-laws. It was a long awaited thing, that was on my hubby's to-do list for a while now. It was ti watch Enthiran in the Cinemas.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24JHUcJdE_4&feature=related

I figured that since Ivan was off at Pasir Ris camping, it was the best time to catch the movie. I was never comfortable leaving Ivan anywhere, while we went for a movie with just ,y elder boy. So this was the best situation for us to work with. I bought the tickets on-line, just as my hubby told me that he would be home early that afternoon.

After having fixed lunched, Immanuel and I sat for lunch together. I then kind of lazed around, as my hubby and son occupied themselves. When it was almost 5pm, I got ready and we left for dinner at Popeye's. I just love their fries and enjoyed my dinner with just the right proportions, as I knew popcorns were coming soon.

We then walked around aimlessly as we could not find a place to sit for coffee. Soon, I watched the movie, which I know both my hubby and son loved. I however, found that the sound system was just too loud for my liking.

My hubby suggested that Immanuel spent the night at his mum's, so that we could have our time alone. We hardly get such worry-less time alone, that it felt so weird. After a passionate night, we went to dreamland at about 2am. The poor hubby had to work the next day, but he always gets to it.

So without the boys home, I slept in to about 10am. After which I sat to catch up on the Playlist on our Hubstation. Tyke was pretty bored today, as there was no one to play with him. Around 5pm, Mary brought Immanuel over. We had a good chat about, what may be coming our way in terms of "M".

The hubby came home, and we went to Joe's Corner for dinner, Mary joined us. We had Lamb Masala Pizza amongst others.

Later at night, I started to blog my life away.

Introduction

A new start...
It is now very quiet... as everyone at home is asleep. I am tucked in between my soft sheets, but I am pretty much awake. I feel like writing and thus, I reach over to my HP laptop and start off to place my thoughts into words. Beside me... my darling hubby is sound a sleep, from a tired day at work. The boys are out too. Oh yes, Tyke, my little Yorkshire Terrier is pacing up and down as he looks at me, occasionally. Guess both id us are not sleepy. Don't know what's bothering him, but I think I shall wrire to feel better. And here goes...

I have just turned 35 and now I am a little more paranoid about how I look. I have always been a lean lady, however, over the years, I have been a friend to a couple of pounds. Now it's time I stopped blaming it on metabolism and start shedding the extra pounds off.

I married my college years, sweetheart, and we have two wonderful boys. I love being a wife and a mother, but I still need a piece of myself to maintain my sanity.

Teaching has always been one of my passions. I had been on a seven year sabbatical from the schools, and will be diving in soon. I have a lot of exciting things lined up for my life, but for now nothing seems clear.
